madecasse sea salt & cacao nibs, 63% cocoa, madagascar

I’ve been telling some friends that I have been a little “off” chocolate recently.  Just not craving it as often, or as intensely, as I should be (considering I consider it one my top 5 reasons to be alive).  It’s been a weird period of life…

Anyway I would like to share some good news:

I’M 100% BACK after consuming this excellent birthday gift from Maribel. Wowwwwww I ate the whole bar in one hour. That is 30 grams of fat, 6 grams of protein, 8% of my daily iron… None of which can explain the *magic* that is genuine chocolate — there’s something much more spiritual/supernatural going on here.  I think I am REALLLY FEELING THIS ONE because the first ingredient is cocoa beans, that’s legit & authentic…  ^___^  I don’t know if I’ve felt this good since a certain visit to Zeta bar in Bangkok  ;)  Seriously, I kind of feel like that night … but maybe I’d need a few more bars of chocolate to reach that intensity.

Rating is like 9.5/10  [I’m always hopeful that someday I’ll experience an 11/10, if that exists HAHAHA.].  I can’t even tell you about the taste; this one’s all about the FEELING and feeling sooo good. :)  Of course sea salt dark chocolate is the flavor, with cocoa nibs in it (which i am also crazy about), & Madagascar is the origin, if you’re wondering. It’s just very authentic, there’s no stupid filling in this chocolate.

OH yeah.. Most passionate post in like 2 months ^_^

I’ve been slacking on the chocolate reviews recently, but the blessing of a birthday will bring new ones onto this surface (surface = tumblr).  And I’m excited & thankful for the new chocolates my friends are encouraging me to try :P :P

It was a happy birthday & I’m thankful for good times with friends, as well as some sloppy craziness that might come along with it :P  Hey, it’s life, it’s not perfect :)

On an unrelated note, I’m curious to know what people most admire about me, (if anything.. lol), so if you’re interested in telling me, send me a message through the “ask me anything” button  ^__^

Graduation is less than one month awayyyyyyyyy BTW!  Make this time count.

Secrets of planet Earth, part two

I don’t put much thought into how I dress myself,

and I kind of assume the same tendency in others.

Secrets of planet Earth, part one

I think this tastes much better than Nutella ;)

I think it’s Kroger’s biggest success in the entire history of the Kroger corporation…

Q
How would you describe yourself in one word?
Anonymous
A

curious… or potential

(Depends on the day!)

Q
If you could only have one or the other, would you rather eat Thai food or chocolate for the rest of your life?
Anonymous
A

Thai food.

A diet of 100% chocolate would be A LOT of happiness until all the nutritional deficiencies took their toll hahahaha.  100% chocolate is not healthy, but one should aim for 20% of their caloric intake to be chocolate ;)

I wish it somehow worked out that everyone could have exactly who they wanted to love,

….and even at the desired time(s) and place(s),

….and even in the specific desired ways

If only.

Q
When did you first realize your passion for chocolate?

That’s an interesting thing to consider. I can’t really remember, but I think my dad started buying dark chocolate for health, and my mom later took over too.  Maybe when I was in high school… And I think they were getting darker and darker stuff, and trying exotic and interesting brands.  As I tried more and more different brands, my mind was just blown how they’re all similar, yet all so distinct in their own right. Like people! [But chocolate tastes much better…]  hahahaha.  And, I think that my true lust for chocolate didn’t come out until I started getting that ‘feeling’ that you get from the really exquisite chocolates :P  Anyway then there’s the point in life when I realize it can solve most problems in life (although I think my problems have become a little more complicated since, haha, it still tends to help!!!).

Q
If a sketchy random stranger handed you chocolate in a ziploc bag, would you eat it?
Anonymous

A better question is, Have I eaten chocolate I found in a garbage can before?… Yes.

I probably would not it if the person was VERY sketchy, but it depends on my mood of the day.  My chocolate consumption habits vary in recklessness on a daily basis  :P

Q
if you could only eat one kind/brand of chocolate for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Depends on if price is a factor:

(1) if price IS a factor, then Ghirardelli 60% cacao bittersweet baking chips

(2) if price IS NOT a factor & all this chocolate is free-flowing, then Valrhona brand is EXCELLENT. But, i’ve totally lost it!!!! The only place i used to know where to get it from was Trader Joe’s, but now they don’t even seem to have it.  Lemme know if anyone knows of a store that sells Valrhona, french chocolate. BTW, the kind I liked was Valrhona 84% cacao sooo dark sooo perfect.

I can barely remember the taste b/c it’s been so long.

But I do remember the feeling of LOVE we had together <3

I really want to eat bean sprouts all day every day. They’re such a crisp texture, light, fresh, lively, fun, and cheap.  They go well in mostly every application too!  I would suggest using them in baked goods but, eh, you never know!!

a “personal statement” ^_^

Dearest Fans,

I love you all very much, though there are few of you :P  “The few and the proud.”  I hope I have some really random creepers on here, too :P

I enjoy this time we spend together (in a very detached way haha).

Most of all, I am wowed by your enthusiasm for my chocolatiering.  Recently I’ve sort of hit a “dry spell” with chocolate: I really don’t know why.  I think it’s just stress causing me to lose interest even in those things that I value the most in the entire world.

In these times of stressful school working, I cling to my Pillow (literally.. and that includes right now.. he’s on my lap).  But indeed Pillow tends to distract me..

That was random…

And since I am currently incapable of ending this in a structured, sensible way in terms of closure, I’ll just give up on that.

Well Cedar Waxwings and Bohemian Waxwings are some of the most brilliantly beautiful birds in the world, and I propose that you look them up on Google Images, then on Youtube for some silly videos haha.  You can just type in Waxwings; they look quite alike.  I’ve seen some roaming in Battle Park on one extraordinary day, and another time a large flock in trees a few minutes walk away from my apartment   ^_____^  Now that’s a reason to smile for life in Chapel Hill!!

Q
Your chocolate reviews makes me want to give you chocolate!!

Please do na kha!!! :) :)  I love chocolate in a very special way. <3

Q
MINTRA this blog is awesome. Would you feature a chocolate review if I brought you a tub of unpackaged, already broken up mystery chocolate? It's been in my mom's fridge since Thanksgiving. I think it may be from Aldi, the European discount store? Anyways, holla back gurl.
